Bit of culture in Malta

Some of you maybe had a chance to go to Manuel Theatre and see the really good production of the Fiddler on the Roof lately. I went last Sunday and I really enjoyed the performance. The night was sold out like the few previous ones and even on the balconies some people seemed to have standing tickets. It proves that more productions like that are needed in Malta. Maybe musicals and operas on more regular basis not just once in a year. Malta definitely deserves more cultural nights and there is so much potential on the island that we do not need to hire acclaimed artists from abroad, we can really manage with what Malta has to offer.

The two productions that I am looking forward to are the Mozart’s opera in two weeks: La Clemenza di Tito– the last of Mozart’s operas written just after the Magic Flute and just before the Easter the Jesus Christ Superstar musical.

Also another cultural event but on the smaller scale will take place this Sunday near Verdala Palace. It will be the spring opening of the Sculpture Park there and it will be filled with music performed by students of the Johann Strauss School of Music so if you want to spend few hours outdoors and enjoy the beautiful art- sculptures and music, feel free to join the students of the state music school.
