Blast from the past-Last night in Germany – Beer festival in Niederaufdorf

The last evening in Germany after spending there more than 4 weeks, we had a chance to attend the local beer festival- a smaller version of Oktoberfest held in Munich. Situated just one village away from where we were staying, the festival was held in a courtyard of the monastery.

The local beer was served in litre glasses, one could order a half pint but it wasn’t common. On the menu there were local specialities- Apfelstrudel, herring sandwiches- my favourite, pieces of chicken, salty pretzels and etc. People were dressed in local Bavarian outfits, even children. There was a local band playing and some of the youngsters were dancing their folk dances. It was quite an amazing experience and an ideal end to the month in Bavarian landscape.

The end of that day was even  more amazing because I was able to see a double rainbow. Quite a view… I think during the whole month, I’ve seen it couple of them as in the mountains with a lot of rain/sun, ever-changing weather it is very likely to spot the rainbow but the double one is pretty amazing one.
