First impressions of Oberaudorf and MTB

On Friday afternoon I got to Oberaudorf where I will stay for the next month to study German and collaborative piano. My flight was delayed but I was still one of the lucky people whose flight was just two hours long. Then an hour and a half later we got to the picturesque and small town of Oberaudorf.  Due to some confusion and overbooking first few days 3 of the pianists will share the room – one of our roommates still hasn’t come though, but then it is back to two people per room and mine is actually two rooms with balcony and bathroom so each person can get some privacy.
We had some short introduction and walk around the town which finished with the welcome dinner in the hotel restaurant.

On Saturday we had our first German lessons and orientations and in between we had lunch in one of the restaurant where of course I had to try der Wienerschnitzel. In the afternoon we were invited for coffee and cakes in on of the bakeries and it was delicious. It was that good that today with my new Canadian friend Jen we had to go again and try new sweets;)

Today the singers had to perform two contrasting songs in front of the faculty and pianists still had some time off which I used for a bit of practicing and listening to the singers. People who at first looked like bunch of typical American kids changed into serious professional while on stage and I am really looking forward to be working with them. Tonight we should know with which teachers will be working.

I had some time today to take pictures of our surroundings especially that the weather was much better- no rain!
